MILKING – FARM VISIT BOOKING PLATFORM

Designed and developed a seamless, mobile-first web application for booking agri-tourism farm visits. The platform automates slot management, ticketing, and payments, transforming a manual process into a 60-second digital experience.

Year :

2026

Project Type:

Web Application

Industry :

Agri-Tourism & EdTech

Project Duration :

3 weeks

Problem :

"Milking," an organic dairy farm offering educational tours, faced significant operational friction. The booking process was entirely manual, relying on phone calls and spreadsheets to manage visitor slots. Potential visitors lacked visibility into real-time availability, amenities, or pricing structure. This opacity caused high drop-off rates, double-booking errors, and a frustrating experience for users trying to plan weekend visits.

Solution :

I built a custom, responsive web application using React, Tailwind CSS, and Google Apps Script. The solution focuses on a linear, friction-free "Checkout" user flow: https://milking.org.in/book-farm-visit

  • Smart Calendar: A visual date selector that instantly shows slot availability and farm schedules.

  • Dynamic Booking Engine: A BookMyShow-style slot counter that handles complex logic for large groups and free entry for children.

  • Automated Logistics: Integrated Razorpay for secure payments and a system that automatically generates and sends digital tickets with QR codes via WhatsApp for offline access.

Challenge :

The primary challenge was balancing advanced functionality with extreme simplicity for a non-tech-savvy audience (farmers, seniors, and families). I had to design a "Zero-Login" architecture where users could book without creating accounts, while still securely managing their data. Additionally, implementing real-time slot locking and validation on a serverless, zero-cost backend (Google Sheets/Apps Script) required creative engineering to ensure data consistency without a traditional database.

Summary :

The Milking Booking Platform successfully bridged the gap between traditional farming and modern digital convenience. The application reduced the booking time from a 10-minute phone call to a sub-60-second digital flow. By automating inventory management and ticketing, the farm can now focus on the guest experience rather than logistics. The project demonstrates the ability to build production-grade, full-stack solutions that solve real-world business problems with cost-effective architecture.
